Blog #10: 4/20 and Cannabis

Hello my fellow Medicinalizers! Welcome to the blog! On 4/20, I will be talking about what 4/20 means to me personally!

4/20 to me is just another day but a special one at the same time! The reason it is just another day for me is that I use cannabis regularly and I use it for medicinal purposes. Cannabis is something that I enjoy and I have those 4/20 vibes daily. The reason why 4/20 is a special day is that this date is specifically a holiday for cannabis. I think that it is pretty cool how an inside joke turned into a national holiday for cannabis! 4/20 is a reminder to me about all the good things and memories cannabis has brought to my life.

It is a day where people that are regular consumers and ones that are not that come together to enjoy cannabis. Smoking cannabis with other people is a great way to build connections and bonds with one another. Some of my best friendships in my life have came from smoking cannabis with one another. 4/20 is just a great day to come together to get high with one another and go to another stratosphere.

That’s all I got for this blog! It was a short one and wanted to get my thoughts on 4/20 and what it means to me!

Blog #8: Cannabis and Workouts

Hello my fellow Medicinalizer! Welcome to the blog! In this blog, I’m going to talk about using cannabis for workouts!

I want to start out with saying that when I first started getting into working out back in 2014, I used cannabis before I worked out. Since then, I have continued to used cannabis in over 95% of my workouts. So what I say in this blog comes from my own personal experience.

The first thing that comes to mind with the combination of cannabis and working out is the mind-muscle connection I focus on intently while performing the exercises. It helps me focus more on having good form and quality of reps over lifting more weight or getting more reps while sacrificing good form. I’m going to be very clear that working out after using cannabis isn’t for MOST people. I thank God that I happen to thrive in my workouts when I use cannabis.

Secondly, working out after indulging in some dank cannabis is a good hobby to have while being medicated! Who says that people that use cannabis don’t stay in shape? Working out is one of my favorite things to do while I’m medicated.

Thirdly, having the good euphoric feelings from working out combined with the medicated feeling from the cannabis combined is an AMAZING feeling. You have to experience this to know what I am talking about. It is at least worth trying at least once in your life!

What next comes to mind is how cannabis helps with post-workout recovery. After a good workout, your muscles tend to be sore after you had an intense workout! Using cannabis after a workout helps with muscle soreness and it feels good when your body gets that relaxed feeling after a workout. It helps you recover faster and be able to push through in your workouts and keep getting those GAINS!

Those are the top four things that came to mind from my experience with the combination of cannabis and working out!

Blog #3: Cannabis is Beneficial if Used Properly

Ever since the prohibition of cannabis in the United States started back in the 1930s, there has been debates whether cannabis is a beneficial plant to use. Numerous anti cannabis campaigns were spread throughout the media and it helped shape the view on cannabis in the mainstream media.

The laws on cannabis only began to tighten up and they got only more strict over the years. One of the many important laws against cannabis is that the federal government put it on the “Schedule 1” drugs. That means it has no “accepted medicinal treatment use in the U.S.”.

The good news is that the shift on cannabis has begun to shift! At the time of this article, currently 16 states that have legalized recreational cannabis to adults that are 21+ years old.

I’m going to first mention the key to using cannabis to your benefit and not your detriment. The key is to NOT BE DEPENDENT ON CANNABIS! If you tell yourself that you can’t live without cannabis, then what will cause problems in all phases of your life.

If you cannabis as something that helps make your life better, while not being dependent on it, there is nothing wrong with using cannabis! Using cannabis can be used for so many different purposes that I will get into in future blogs!

Where most cannabis users go wrong is not taking “tolerance breaks” every once in awhile to lower your tolerance, therefore not needing to use as much cannabis to get the desired effects. I was very guilty of this as well in the past. A recommendation is that every 4-6 months, take a 1 month break from cannabis and make sure to drink 1/2-1 gallon of water per day along with working out a few times per week! Always drink water and workout regularly no matter what!
